Three Saint Bernards dog died because of wrong packaging

It all came from a good intention to provide a better living environment for her 4 dogs, however Christina, a Jakarta resident is very disapointed instead. Three out of four of her Saint Bernard died as the caused of wrong packaging, on their way to Klaten through Yogyakarta.

Those three dogs which weight around 65-75kg, found lifeless when the package arrived in Yogyakarta on last February 5th. One dog is still alive but in dying condition.

Christina was very shocked when she got a text message from her colleague in Yogyakarta, Handaka who wanted to adopt all her dogs. in that short message that she received on Saturday, February 5th state that three out of her four dogs were dead.

"Who would thought and guessed that in saturday morning, i received a news through text message from Mr. Handaka that 3 out of my 4 lovey that i have sent to him previous day have all died. I cried histerically uncontrolably." said Christina.

According to Christina, those three dogs were died in a miserable condition due run out of breath.

Doctor's vise said that the caused of Dior, Alvan and Dextra (name of the dogs) death is lack of oxygen with the result their lungs are rupture, with condition blood came out from eyes, nose and ear.

In her opinion, the kennel used to pack all the four dogs were too small for one Saint Bernards type. Even two dogs put into one cage, it is not apropriate.

furthermore, those four dogs were actually sent by expedition service through train. And after the dogs arrived, the receiver found that their kennels were sticked with duck tape which covering the air vent.

Christina became more dissapointed because PP petshop owner, the person who did the delivery service is reluctant to take respoinsibility. She said, the petshop owner, JI mentioned precisely that her dogs death were only an accident.

Christina admit that she has done a legal procedure by sending a subpoena letter to the petshop owner. After that even they had a meeting between two parties. However, the result was nothing because it has became a defence event from JI by putting the blame on Christina's side.
Christina revealed, as the consequence of this incident, She suffered material losses as much as 145 million rupiah, which include cost of upkeep, employee's salary, dog's food, electricity for Aircon. Please note that market price for Saint Bernard dog in productive age is minimum Rp 20 million - Rp 35 million each.

However, still petshop owner refuse to give fair compensation, by mean reason there were no written agreement that if the animal died so the petshop owner has to give compensation. The petshop party only ready to compensate the amount of Rp 3 million, which is limited to the cost of shipping.

A Bomb Explosion at Cirebon mosque

Another bomb exploded today in a mosque in Cirebon, West Java, Indonesia, just few minutes before Friday prayer started, killing 1 man. A man killed in the mosque-bombing in Cirebon today is allegedly its perpetrator. Most-likely it's suicide-bomb. 25 people are injured.

Interestingly, the mosque where the suicide-bomb took place today is located inside the complex of police office of the district of Cirebon.

A Jakarta-based terrorism expert speculated that the suicide-bombing in a mosque in Cirebon, Indonesia, today is linked to Al-Qaeda. It's been known that terrorists linked to JI and Al-Qaeda had singled out Indonesian police as one of their main enemy.

Indonesian police, i.e. The Detachement 88, has been successful in arresting and disrupting terrorist network over last 9 yrs. Very likely that the suicide-bombing in Cirebon targeted the police, given the fact that police has been seen by terrorists as their enemy!
Who is behind the suicide-bomb in Cirebon? We don't know, of course. Let the police handle it and reveal the networks behind it!

A house representative member watch porn clip during plenary session

Indonesian human rights regulator Imparsial urged the House of Representatives to give notice to legislator Arifinto, who was caught by a photographer watching a porn clip on his tablet computer throughout a House plenary session on Thursday.
Imparsial executive director Poengky Indarti said that legislators who do not pledge to teaching public morality do not belong in the House of Representatives.

“A representative for the people opens a porn site during a plenary meeting. We are disappointed. If he said it was because he was bored, okay, that’s human. But [what he did] only showed that he simply had a dirty mind. We are disappointed with that kind of performance from a legislator. He should be dismissed. A House member with such an immoral mind is undeserving,” Poengky said, as quoted by kompas.com.

Arifinto’s behavior, she added, would have negative penalty for society. She hoped the House Honorary Council would take firm measures against the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) politician.
“Firm actions were taken against Ariel,” Poengky said, referring to a celebrity whose sex video scandal earned him three years and six months in prison. She said severe measures should be taken against “a representative of the people who obviously did this kind of thing when he should have been thinking about the fate of the people who are rejecting the planned new office building at the House complex.”

Arifinto, who serves in the House’s Commission V supervision transportation affairs, claimed that he had received an email with a link that turned out to be a porn clip when he opened it. Ironically, Arifinto is a member of political party who fought against pornography and created an Anti-pornography law.

The Media Indonesia photographer who caught him in action, Muhammad Irfan, said he had strong proof that Arifinto selected the clip from an existing folder within his tablet computer.

On 11th April 2011, Arifinto immediately resigned from the parlement and made a statement that said it is purely his own decision to step down and he was never put under pressure from his party, the strictly Islamic Prosperous Justice (known as PKS). Furthermore, he said that he would now redeem himself by seeking religious forgiveness from the Koran.

Indonesian sailors kidnapped by Somali Pirates

The captain of a ship carrying 20 Indonesian sailors took hostaged by Somali pirates almost a month ago made an heartfelted plea to the president to intercede on Sunday.
“To the Indonesian government, please rescue us,” Slamet Jauhari said by telephone. The pirates were demanding $2.5 million in ransom, he said, and had threatened to raise the amount except they received confirmation from the ship’s owner or the Indonesian government that the money would be paid.

“I am asking the Indonesian government, Bapak SBY or any businessman who has the money, please save my crew,” Slamet said, referring to President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono by his initials.
The government will merely say that efforts are ongoing to secure the release of the sailors who have been held hostage aboard the Indonesian ship Sinar Kudus since March 16.
The sailors were taken hostage in the Gulf of Aden while en route to Amsterdam after Somali pirates ensnared their vessel, which is carrying 8,300 tons of nickel worth about Rp 1.5 trillion ($175 million) produced by Aneka Tamabang.

“The Indonesian government is deeply concerned with this circumstances and we are investigating options to reconcile this problem as soon as possible,” Foreign Minister Marty Natalegawa said.
Marty said the ship’s owner had been in regular communication with the pirates, but he declined to comment further on the efforts as he did not want to put at risk the hostages’ lives.
In his telephone interview with Metro TV on Sunday, Slamet said he was in good health but 12 of his crew members were sick. “There is no clean water, we are only fed once a day and 12 of my crew are mentally trampled,” he said.
The family members of the sailors have also been pleading for action on the case.
“I am very worried with the situation there. My husband said the crew are very stressed as they have been held hostage for 23 days,” Yunita, the wife of one of the sailors, said at their house in Kediri, East Java, on Saturday.

Slamet’s wife, Isyam Yuni Astuti, said she had sent a letter to the president demanding for help.

Col. Hartind, a spokesman from the Ministry of Defense, told the Jakarta Globe that negotiations were enduring and the government so far had no plans to propel Navy commandos to rescue the Indonesian crew, a shift South Korea took when one of its freighters, Samho Jewelry, was hijacked by Somali pirates in the Indian Ocean in January. Two Indonesians were reportedly between the crew on board that freighter.

Citibank Embezzler: Malinda Dee

Citibank relationship manager Malinda Dee was arrested on Friday for stealing Rp 17 billion ($2 million) from the bank’s customers.

“The total amount of money she commited fraud could be more than Rp 17 billion, as the investigation is still ongoing. We are also looking for other possible suspects,” said
National Police spokesman Insp. Gen. Anton Bacrul Alam.

Malinda, whose real name is Inong Melinda, allegedly started embezzling customer funds three years ago.

She purportedly spent part of the money on a Hummer and a luxury apartment. Police have detained valuable documents as well as both the luxury car and apartment, presumably purchased with dishonestly obtained money.

National Police Special Crimes Chief Brig. Gen. Arief Sulistyo said police were working closely with the Financial Transactions Report and Analysis Center (PPATK) to trace the money.

Arief said Melinda, who had worked with Citibank for 15 years, took advantage of her relationships with customers to rip-off the system.

He said she had either falsified withdrawal documents or failed to deposit the money in her clients’ accounts as she had promised.

At least three victims have reportedly filed complaints with the police.
